Program Description
Summary – Today, roughly 50% of the United States Military is comprised of members of the Reserve and National Guard, a great many of whom have full or part time jobs in the civilian sector and rely upon the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families.
Learning Objective – (Employee Rights and Protections and Employer Responsibilities) HR Professionals will gain a better understanding of the roles played by employers, Department of Defense, and Department of Labor in promoting resolution to problems arising from employee’s military commitments.
Speakers
Jason Evans
Jason Evans served in the U.S. Army for seven years and has served at locations all over the world to include two tours in Iraq.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Jason began working with the U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service in 2007. Since his hire, Jason has conducted non-criminal investigations concerning employment rights for past/present/future military service members.
Roland Keller
Mr. Keller is a retired Army Officer with over 40 years’ experience in the fields of training and instruction, and the better part of 15 years background in the development, application and support of computer technologies in government.
Mr. Keller joined Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in 2000 and subsequently became the Director of Ombudsmen for the State of Texas committee. Following that, in 2011, he assumed the role of lead coordinator for a joint DoD/DoL Employment Initiative project for South Texas. Today Mr. Keller serves the State as an ESGR Ombudsman and Military Outreach Coordinator for the greater San Antonio and its environs.

sun-dried tomatoes, capers and herbed fettuccini,
rolls with butter, freshly brewed iced tea and water station.
Cheesecake.
Bring a blanket of any kind, store bought, handmade, no-sew, etc. to distribute to veterans in VA hospitals and ship to deployed service members.
