Ernesto Escobedo, SHRM-SCP

Ernesto Escobedo, Jr, has 31 years experience at the US Air Force and US EEOC (retired).  As a former EEOC negotiator, Ernesto is a sought-after voice on training matters in EEO, conflict resolution, negotiations, and mediation. At EEOC, Ernesto received leadership recognition from the President of the United States, US Congress, and Federal Executive Association. Ernesto also has professional work experience at Honeywell Inc and Wells Fargo Banks.

As a 1st-Gen graduate, Ernesto received nine scholarships during his academics, including the prestigious Texas Business Hall of Fame scholarship.  He has presented at professional conferences and doctoral residencies in Costa Rica, Spain, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Argentina. He has also presented at Texas SHRM and SHRM affiliates. Dr. Escobedo has published in peer reviewed Journals and serves as a Reviewer for an academic journal. 

Ernesto is the former President of San Antonio SHRM 2023, with approximately 600 members, and is currently on its Executive Board. He held various leadership positions at SA SHRM, including Board Director of Workforce Development and Treasurer Director. He also has board and leadership experience at the University of California, Riverside, and MALDEF.   

For the 1st-time in its 65-year history, as President of SA SHRM and fluent in Spanish, Ernesto co-led a team who presented HR topics 100% in Spanish to small businesses. 

Currently, Dr. Escobedo, PhD, JD executive program, is a University Professor in various HR courses and supervises students completing their PhD / DBA doctoral degree. He also teaches business law & employment law at the University level.  Dr. Escobedo is approved by SHRM to teach the Certified Professional (CP) and Senior Certified Professional (SCP) certification courses. Further, he is a pro bono Arbitrator at the Better Business Bureau.
